| Mr & Mrs Hocking celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary today (08/06/07). The couple met in St Austell in 1953 and had their first date at Tresillian Carnival. Margaret said they "just hit it off an never looked back". They courted for 4 years before deciding to get married. After the marriage at Trethurgy Methodist Church, they travelled to Torquay by train for the honeymoon. They have 3 daughters, 5 grand-sons & 1 grand-daughter. Their secret to 50 years of marriage is "to be very tolerant of one another." The couple will be celebrating along with 90 guests at the Heavy Transport Social Club, and have asked for donations to the RNLI rather than presents. |
